John is a Southern California native (but has escaped and now lives in Northern California!). He is married and has four children. He is a graduate of Highland Bible Presbyterian College, Los Angeles Baptist College, and Talbot Theological Seminary (part of BIOLA). (He is currently working on a doctoral degree.) His 40 some years of ministry experience include youth ministry, teaching in Christian education settings, pastoring in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, serving as a youth and adult conference speaker as well as a guest speaker in various settings, short term missions involvement, gospel radio, serving on the boards of various Christian organizations, serving a pastor for his local church, and as administrator of Plumas Christian School for nearly 20 years. He currently serves as the general “under-shepherd” of the congregation at Springs of Hope.
Laurie holds a lifetime certification from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) of Lander, Wyoming. (Specializes in many outdoor skills including minimum impact camping, rock climbing skills via top-roping/rappelling). She is a P.E. teacher for many years in the local Christian school, and serves as President of the Board of our local Plumas County Community Recreation Department. Laurie is the head of the women's ministry program at Springs of Hope.
Together, John and Laurie have four grown children and a growing number of grandchildren.
Besides being a terrific pastor (in our opinion) he is also a published author.
